Contact Redux (feat. Meredith Hagan)
We've been here so long
Still I remember
The rainy September

Contact

Two, four, one, ten
Two, four, one, ten

Am I transmitting
Is anyone listening?

Contact

We are green and gray
The longness of semper
Still I remember

Contact

Two, four, one, ten
Two, four, one, ten

Am I still willing
To foot all this billing?

Contact

Riding on our shiny metal horses
Singing a rider's song
One of us will be forgotten
The other will be wrong

Two, four, one, ten
Two, four, one, ten

Am I transmitting
Is anyone listening?

Contact

When I think of you
Your name's in the sky
Ninety feet high

Contact

Riding on our shiny metal horses
Singing a rider's song
One of us will be forgotten
The other will be wrong

Two, four, one, ten
Two, four, one, ten

Am I still willing
To foot all this billing?

Contact
Contact Redux (feat. Meredith Hagan)

This song is from the album You Were There.

Nico: this tune is heard during the rolling credits. This acoustic treatment of Contact was arranged by Meredith Hagan, and augmented with the band's "pocket symphony orchestra," Christine Wu, who arranged, performed, and recorded the strings. J.C. Leveque played the mournful banjo part in a clawhammer style, and Peter Irvine added the final touch with some tasteful bodhran, an Irish frame drum. If this song ever gets huge, we're buying J.C. a Porsche with a bumper sticker that says "This is the banjo player's Porsche."
